“Running for the Mountains”, a
multi-award award winning documentary set
in West Virginia. Shot over the course of 15 years,
and featuring locations around the state, the
film untangles a web of influence between
extractive industry and prominent politicians
who continue to suppress the needs of the
people and local communities for their
personal profit, in the name of patriotism.
Filmmakers Babette Hogan and Julie
Eisenberg weave a unique story told by people
who represent the backbone of West Virginia.
This beautifully shot and edited film is rich
with original music by West Virginia’s own
Water Light and other talented Appalachian musicians. “Running for the Mountains” will
deeply stir viewers and encourage them to take action. As one of the film’s characters asserts,
“West Virginia is the proving ground for the nation. It all starts here.”
Jesse Johnson and Paul Corbit Brown hand deliver 24 peer reviewed health studies on Mountain Top Removal
mining to West Virginia’s Representatives in Washington, D.C.
"THIS STERLING FILM COULD OBVIOUSLY BREED CYNICISM ABOUT OUR
CORRUPT POLITICS; I HOPE, INSTEAD, IT WILL PUSH PEOPLE TOWARD
ACTIVISM, UNDERSTANDING THAT IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO STAND UP TO
BIG MONEY"
-Bill McKibben, Founder 350.org
Soon to be released for streaming on Amazon!
